The Department of Natural Science notebooks are course notebooks maintained by faculty in the Michigan State Normal College Department of Natural Science. Notebooks include such information as course rosters, grades, and curriculum. Also included in the collection is a series of correspondence notebooks.

Department History and Timelines includes a number of documents and articles created by Lloyd W. Olds and others that outline the development of the department. The collection while extensive is not a complete record of the department or the divisions within the department. The collection also does not document the department after the reorganization and move to the School of Health Promotion & Human Performance.

Pedagogical Society records includes meeting agendas, invitations, and minutes of meetings, as well as outlines and printed copies of papers presented before the society by various faculty members. Records span from 1885 to 1900, with the bulk of the material dating from 1892 to 1900.
