Scope and Contents
The Institutional Strategic Planning Council produced the Strategic Planning and Advancement records, which detail the activities and goals of Eastern Michigan University. The Council is composed of University administrative officers and faculty members. Each major division/department of the University puts together an individudal strategic plan, including Academic Affairs, Advancement, Business & Finance, Communications, Facilities, Government & Community, Human Resources, Information Technology, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Public Safety.
The Strategic Planning and Advancement records include brochures, clippings, correspondence, newsletters, workshop materials, and a print out of the department web site. Also included is a series of Plans and Reports. Part of this series is a file containing information related to the Crosscutting Committees. These committees were comprised of EMU facutly and administrators from different departments on campus. The charge fo the committees was to addres strategic planning initiatives for the following: institutional advancement; diversity, inclusion, and affirmative action; facilities planning; information and communication and technology; interdisciplinary programming; international intitiatives and programming; institutes, centers, and interdisciplinary research; the graduate experience; the undergraduate experience.
