PIRGIM at EMU
Scope and Contents
The University Archives Subject File collection contains materials related to all aspects of Eastern Michigan University. The majority of the materials date from 1853-2017 and contain information concerning EMU's history, campus buildings, student life, short-lived student newspapers/newsletters, Ypsilanti history, and educational initiatives. Until 2011, the Subject Files were used for quick reference and as a way to organize materials that could not yet be added to an identifiable collection. In 2011, University Archives experienced procedure and policy changes that resulted in the end of this system and materials previously located in the Subject Files were added to new or existing collections moving forward.
