Main Front in Winter
Scope and Contents
The Michigan State Normal College Stereograph collection is composed of stereographic cards that were distributed to Ypsilanti area high schools in order to illustrate the MSNC campus, facilities, and student life. Although none of the stereographs is dated, a short letter from MSNC President Charles McKenny was included with each set, which would date the collection to approx. 1912-1933. Each card has a description of the photograph printed on the back of the cardboard mount.
The Michigan State Normal College Stereograph collection has been arranged in original order numerically, by the numbers printed on the cardboard mount of each stereograph print. There are multiple copies of each stereograph; there are six full sets of cards, but in some instances there are as many as eight copies of individual stereographs. In addition, there are two stereographs that lack identifying information but were included in the sets, identified as "Miscellaneous." There are also three copies of the letter from MSNC President Charles McKenny, which introduces the stereograph sets and was printed on the same curved cardboard mount.
