The Egbert R. Isbell reserach materials mainly consist of research files comprised by Egbert R. Isbell while he was writing a book on the history of Eastern Michigan University. Over time, the collection has grown to include some of Isbell's personal papers and history. The original order of the collection was maintained with series created around large groupings of records, e.g. Faculty, Annual Reports, Administration and Organization, and Alumni. a PERSONAL PAPERS series has been added to contain Isbell's personal history.
