Scope and Contents
The College of Education administrative files includes materials pertaining to the administration of the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University. Materials include meeting minutes, correspondence, financial records, programs and curriculum, and organizations related to education and teacher education. The collection is divided into three series: OFFICE FILES, which contains information on faculty and staff, budget reports, correspondence, and registration information; ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMITTEES, which contains information on international, national, local, and university organizations and committees related to teaching, the College of Education, and university business; PROGRAMS AND CURRICULUM, which contains information related to program development, curriculum development, local and international outreach efforts, and staff and faculty development programs.
Of particular note are the files related to the Comer Schools and Family Initiative Project. Through this project, numerous College of Education faculty, along with other EMU faculty, and hundreds of COE students provided direct services to teachers, parents, and students in 26 elementary and middle schools in Detroit.
