Marshall McLuhan
Content Description
Materials in the David Geherin papers relate to his Monographs, Author correspondence and interviews, and documents related to the Ronald Collins Teaching award at Eastern Michigan University.
Dr. Geherin joined the English departement in 1969 and retired in 2010. The majority of the collection relates to his work researching, writing and teaching on the analytic studies of contemporary crime fiction authors.
Given Dr. Geherin's long tenure at the University, his involvement with World Cultural History tours through the University, and the number of publications, one would expect to find more materials related to teaching, service and scholarship.
What is in the collection however, is an example of the relationship that exists between the researcher and their subject specifically in the Correspondence series. In addition to the Correspondence series which includes personal notes from Loren Estleman, Joan Didion Dunne, Christopher Isherwood and Elmore Leonard; there is a series for Manuscripts and supporting documents for the Ronald Collins Distinguised Faculty Award.
