The collection of American Association of University Professors includes AAUP chapter meeting minutes, clippings, and strike agreements. Records span from 1954 until 2011. The collection is arranged into nine series: Administrative Files, Constitution, By laws, and Policies, Contracts and Agreements, Correspondence, Events, Announcements, and Fliers, Meeting Minutes, Negotiations & Strikes, Press, and Professors for a Democratic Union.

The Administrative Files series includes ALOC-EMUFT, Board of Regents Recommendations, Executive Committee Updates, Fact-Finder Report, Faculty Surveys, General Files, Health Care and Benefits, Michigan Conference, Presentations by Howard Bunsis, and Reports. Constitution, By laws, and Policies series are the constitutions and by laws for the AAUP from 1968 until 2003 and a Policies, Documents, and Reports booklet. The Contracts and Agreements series is a collection of the contracts and agreements between the AAUP and Eastern Michigan University spanning from 1971 until 2010.

The Correspondence series spans from 1954 until 2010. Events Announcements, and Fliers series spans from 1956 until 2010 including events, announcements and fliers. The Meeting Minutes series includes meeting minutes from 1957 until 2006. The Negotiationsseries documents negotiations from 2000 until 2007. The Press series includes an extensive subseries titled EMU-AAUP Output a newsletter published by the Eastern Michigan University chapter dating from 1976-2003, clippings, news releases and newsletters from 1970 until 2011. Materials in Professors for a Democratic Union includes a button and general files.

The Memorabilia series includes buttons, pins, and materials from the 2022 faculty strike sich as t-shirts and picket signs.
