Michigan State Normal College Stereograph collection

Abstract

The Michigan State Normal College Stereograph collection is composed of stereographic cards that were distributed to Ypsilanti area high schools in order to illustrate the MSNC campus, facilities, and student life. Although none of the stereographs is dated, a short letter from MSNC President Charles McKenny was included with each set, which would date the collection to approx. 1912-1933.

Abstract Materials in the G. Frederick Leichty papers are directly related to the Internaitonal Debate that took place on November 18, 1937 in Pease Auditorium. The debate was between two members of the Michigan State Normal College Debate Team, Oliver B. Crager and Frederick Leichty, and two members that formed the British Team, Ronald V. Gibson from Cambridge University and James A. Brown from Oxford University. The debate titled "British Criticize Supreme Court: Should the Courts Power Be Curbed?"...
