Summary
Image of police and protesters outside the home of University President Harold E. Sponberg. Student protesters on February 20, 1969 started a protest march to increase African-American involvement in university programs. The protesters locked themselves in Pierce Hall, resulting in 14 being arrested. After the arrests, the protesters marched toward the University President's home to get the arrested protesters released. Photographic negative created by student photographers of the Eastern Echo newspaper.
