Abstract
The Benjamin J. Klager papers contain clippings, correspondence, and Klager's personal memoirs. Klager was an alumni and faculty at Eastern Michigan University, and served in the position of controller from 1948 to 1960. The collection is arranged alphabetically. Records date from 1960-1972.

Biographical note
Benjamin J. Klager received his Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy from Michigan State Normal College in 1915. For the next several years Klager served as Superintendent of Schools in Hanover, and Columbiaville. He taught physics for Ann Arbor High School while he completed his Master's of Arts degree at the University of Michigan. Klager returned to public school administration serving as Superintendent of Schools in Onaway, Manistee and Bay City. In 1948 Klager joined the staff at EMU as controller. The position of controller made Klager in charge of the school's business and finance, self-liquidating project operations, property control, traffic and parking. Klager served as controller until his retirement in 1960.
