The Curtis K. Stadtfield papers contain clippings, correspondence, news releases, photographs, and a curriculum vitae. The collection contains one series: Personal Writings. These writings include two unpublished copies of Stadtfield's books: The Whitetail Deer and From the Land and Back. The collection is arranged alphabetically. Records date from 1970-1993.

Curtis K. Stadtfield was born on his families farm in Remus, Michigan in April of 1935. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University, and his Master of Arts from Eastern Michigan University in 1970. Stadtfield was a professor of English Language and Literature at Eastern Michigan University. He was hired in 1972. Before being hired as a professor, Stadtfield worked for EMU as the Director of Information Services starting in 1966. While working at EMU, he authored two books: From the Land and Back, and The Whitetail Deer. In 1991 he was a recipient of EMU Alumni Teaching Excellence Award. Stadtfield remained in the English Department until 1993 when he died suddenly at the age of 58.
