Biographical note
Thomas Leroy Hankinson was a professor of natural science at Michigan State Normal College. He was born on April 12, 1876 in Valparaiso, Indiana, and after losing his parents at a young age, relocated to HIllsdale, Michigan to live with his uncle. He received a B.S. from Michigan Agricultural College in 1898, and a second B.S. from Cornell University in 1900. He served as a professor of zoology MSNC from 1921 until his death in 1935.
