Student Publications collection
Scope and Contents
The Student Publications collection contains a examples of complete student publications in the form of two poetry books and one magazine. The collection also contains articles taken out from student newspapers that cover the publications, including information about new styles of yearbooks, the election of new editors and controversial status' of student publications. The collection has papers regarding the Board in Control of Student Publications that indicate the internal functions of the Board between 1955 and 1970.
This collection contains correspondences, bylaws for four years, two years of budget requests, and meeting minutes. The collection also includes a petition for a new student publication group on campus, an alumni newsletter for past participants in student publications, and an example of a student publication group’s banquet booklet. The collection also contains a few documents regarding the internal functions of the Normal College News. A bulk of the collection is student life publications, booklets made for students to educate them about campus life and the University.

Language of Materials
The Student Publications collection contains information pertaining to various student publication groups. The collection includes pamphlets and booklets written by students, articles from student newspapers, and Eastern Michigan University sponsored student life booklets. The remaining material covers the internal affairs of the student groups behind the publications, including bylaws, correspondence, budget request, and meeting minutes.
