The Norma collection

 Collection
Identifier: 018.N

Abstract

The Norma collection contains historical documents collected by the mother of anonymous donors. Norma started collecting autographs as a young girl, corresponding with local dignitaries and celebrities. Later, motivated by a keen interest in history, she began collecting signatures of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and branched out to signatures of other historically prominent figures. The 45 documents in the collection are organized by last name and include the date signed when possible, as well as a small series for historical documents that do not necessarily contain signatures on the document. Included in the collection are signed documents from Samuel Adams, Benjamin Disraeli, John Hancock, Abraham Lincoln, and William Seward.
