Hazel Sayles letters
Abstract
The Hazel Sayles letters are a collection of letters sent to Hazel from her mother during the years she was enrolled at the Michigan State Normal College and three years after she graduated in 1922. Hazel Sayles was from Grand Rapids and majored in Home Economics and was a member of the Home Economics Club.

Biographical Note
Hazel Sayles was born to parents Frederic R. and Laura A. and lived in Grand Rapids Michigan. Her father was born in New York and worked as a machinist for a furniture company in Grand Rapids. Her mother was a home maker raising three girls, Hazel (b. abt. 1900), Hattie F. (b. abt. 1902) and Julia S. (b. abt. 1905). Hazel attended the Michigan State Normal College from 1920 - 1925.
Hazel Sayles died in Grand Rapids November 30, 1982.
