Administrative History

The InterFraternity Council (IFC) was officially established in 1910. Its purpose is to unite and organize national fraternities who exist on the same college campuses. InterFraternity Council has two representatives from each fraternity attend meetings, during which they will make important decisions regarding topics such as hazing, binge drinking at parties, and Greek Week. InterFraternity Council strives to promote cooperation between each of the different fraternities.

Eastern Michigan University's InterFraternity Council includes EMU's one local fraternity, Arm of Honor, despite the rule that states only national fraternities are involved in IFC.
