Scope and Contents

The Omega Phi Alpha collection is arranged into three series. 1. Administration includes constitution and bylaws, contact lists, financial forms, minutes, and pledge journals and interviews. 2. History, Tradition and Ephemera including photo albums, jacket, t-shirt, pin boxes, poems and songs, and scrapbooks. 3. Publicity and Outreach contains event information, awards and certificates, newsletters and National Convention information. The collection is arranged alphabetically. Records date from 1992-2013.

Historical note

Omega Phi Alpha was founded at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1967. It is a national service sorority, its brother organization being Alpha Phi Omega. The Gamma Chapter of Omega Phi Alpha at Eastern Michigan University was one of the original chapters of the organization. Gamma Chapter was founded in 1967 and rechartered in 1992.
