Abstract

The Office of Student Activities, now known as Campus Life, was the focal point for the University's student organizations. Campus Life now offers student centered learning, development and involvement activities that challenge and support the unique gifts, needs, experiences and interests of students, staff members and members of the campus community. The Student Activities records range from 1898 to 2008, with bulk of the material dating from 1950 to 1969, and includes clippings, memorabilia, programs, and manuals.

Administrative History note

The Office of Student Activities, now known as Campus Life, was the focal point for the University's student organizations. There, student groups registered their activities and reserved rooms, building, and outdoor facilities for meetings and other activities. The Office of Student Activities also provided general and financial assistance to students organizations in their sponsorship of programs. Other services included coordinating organizations, providing assistance to change by-laws, constitutions, and approving publicity posters. The office also developed cultural, educational, recreational, and social programs.

Campus Life now offers student centered learning, development and involvement activities that challenge and support the unique gifts, needs, experiences and interests of students, staff members and members of the campus community. Campus Life offers leadership programs, at least one student organization within academic departments, conference opportunities, volunteer groups, campus jobs, and Greek organizations. Also provided are programs for new, transfer, commuter, international, graduate, and adult students.
