Art Department records
Scope and Contents
The Art Department records contain information on students and faculty, including sabbatical forms, faculty vitas, faculty and peer evaluations, correspondence, grade books, scholarships, and student employment papers. There are administrative papers which include course descriptions and evaluations, financial statements, requisition forms, and Advisory Council Minutes. The Art Department records also includes information on past exhibitions in the Ford Gallery such as the EMU Circa ’69, textile exhibits, faculty art exhibitions and theses exhibitions. To correlate with the many programs and exhibitions put on by the Art Department, there are also many promotional materials, clippings and news releases that advertise the events.
The collection is arranged alphabetically and the records date from 1938 to 2013. The collection contains very little documentation of student art exhibitions, examples of faculty and student work, and instead focuses on the administration of the department and the Gallery program.
