Abstract

The records in the Outdoor Education Committee records were collected by Roosevelt School Principle Leonard Menzi during the process of offering outdoor education esperiences for Education Majors at the Michigan State Normal College. Materials in the collection include student applications, correspondence, publicity, planning documents, collected literature, materials specific to Mill Lake Camp in Chelsea Michigan, and slides from the Mill Lake Camp site taken by Leonard Menzi. The committee helped to facilitate a relationship with Mill Lake Camp, a summer camp for youth, to place MSNC students as camp counselors, and as a space for week long immersion in outdoor education. Records in the collection date from 1952-1958 with most records dating from 1955-56.
