Abstract

The Brian Steimel T-Shirt collection includes a variety of t-shirts created for events on campus, collected by an alumni and employee of Eastern Michigan University Brian Steimel. Events range from festivals sponsored by WEMU, departmental t-shirts, homecoming, and programatic materials and date from 1987-2011.

Abstract The Julea Ward Case records document the legal proceedings that took place between Julea Ward and Eastern Michigan University. Ward was a counseling graduate student at EMU when she refused to counsel a client about a homosexual relationship because of her religious beliefs. Abstract

The Women's and Gender Studies Department was initiated in 1975 and has grown from offering the first minor in Women's Studies in Michigan, to offering an undergraduate major and minor, and the state's only stand-alone Master of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies. The Women's Studies records range from 1970 to 2010 and include correspondence, minutes, program reviews, cassette tapes, video tapes, fliers, poems, clippings, pamphlets, and photographs.
