Scope and Contents
The Eastern Michigan University Commencement records contains programs, invitations, clippings, transcripts from commencement events held on campus. Records span from 1854 when the Eastern Michigan University was known as the Michigan State Normal School until April 2017. The collection is arranged into four series: Event Audio/Visual, Event Photographs, Press Releases & Clippings, and Programs, Transcripts and Ephemera Planning documents for December 17, 2006, there is a complete record of the planning of a commencement ceremony. Records date from 1854-2013 with gaps in the historical record from 1855-1858, 1860, 1866, 1868, 1878 and 1882-1883.
