Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The final series of Recordings and Sheet Music includes recording of several concerts and performances at Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State Normal College that includes Concert Winds and Glee Club, Eastern Michigan University Madrigals, guest artists, poetry series, Symphonic Band, and Ypsilanti Normal Choir. The sheet music in this collection was either composed by faculty, staff or alumni and/or has a specific connection to the University such as the fight song.

Biographical / Historical

Dr. Fitch, a native of Kansas, received his Master of Music degree and Doctorate from the University of Michigan. He joined the faculty of the Michigan State Normal College (EMU) in 1944 where he conducted the EMU band andCollege/Civic Orchestra. Dr. Fitch conducted the Ann Arbor Symphony 1961-63, and was coordinator of the All-State division at the National Music Camp at Interlochen for nine summers.

Fitch dies March 17, 2000 at the age of 86.
