Scope and Contents

The Office of the Provost records are organized into 4 record groups: ADMINISTRATIVE, FACULTY, FACULTY RESEARCH, and UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE RESEARCH. The ADMINISTRATIVE record group countains the following series: Committees, Deans Advisory Council, Program Reviews, and Reports, as well as other materials realted to the administration of the Office of the Provost. The FACULTY record group contains the following series: Sabbatical, Tenure, Promotion, and Evaluations, and University Research and Sabbatical Leave Committee (URSLC). The FACULTY RESEARACH record group contains the following series: Faculty Research and Creative Activity Fellowship, New Faculty Research Award (NFA), Reserach Excellence Fund (REF) Research Support Award (RSA), and Spring/Summer Research Awards, as well as files on research awards dated 2006-2012 amd internal research award materials. The UNDERGRADUTE AND GRADUATE RESEARCH record group contains the following series: Graduate Studies and Research Support Fund (GSRSF) and Undergraduate Research Stimulus Program Award (URSP). The record groups are arranged alphabetically and within the record groups are series that are arranged chronologically. Each series includes files such as research funding/sabbatical applicant files, reports, correspondence, agendas, proposals, minutes, ratings and rankings, award overviews, reports, committee minutes and memos, approved and denied research funding applications, and promotion and evaluation files, which are arranged alphabetically.

Notes by committee members pertaining to the discussion/decision on whether to grant an award requires permission from the Graduate School. Please contact the Graduate School before contacting the Archives to obtain written permission.

Researchers are asked to request materials 24 hours prior to visiting the the University Archives.

The Office of the Provost brings together key academic leadership and resources to promote excellence in teaching, research, professional achievement, creative activity, and service. The Office of the Provost serves faculty and students in their pursuit of academic excellence.

Abstract

Materials not included in this collection are the administrative files of individual Provosts, e.g. correspondence, schedules, initiatives, etc.
