Scope and Contents
The records of the Delta Pi Epsilon Society collection contains information on membership, society and chapter histories, meeting minutes, correspondence, publications and a scrapbook of the Gamma Alpha Chapter of the Delta Pi Epsilon Society at Eastern Michigan University. The collection is arranged alphabetically with the exception of Delta Pi Epsilon History, which is placed first in the records. Meeting minutes and notes, Membership, and Publications information is further subdivided.
The Meeting minutes and notes series is divided into chronological files that date from 1974, 1992-1997. The Publication series includes the Delta Pi Epsilon Newsletter, Gamma Alpha Briefs, flyers, The Early View of Business Education, and invitations and programs. The Membership series includes committees, reports and lists, membership files, directories, membership book, initiates, applications and guidelines, and correspondence of both members and candidates.
Records date from 1974-2001, with the bulk of the records dating from 1992-1998.

Administrative History
Delta Pi Epsilon is a national graduate honorary society for professionals founded on New York University's campus in 1936. The purpose of Delta Pi Epsilon is to support and promote scholarship, leadership, and cooperation toward the advancement of education for and about business. The Gamma Alpha Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon was founded on Eastern Michigan University's campus in 1974 in hopes of "encouraging research, developing leadership, and further professional development of Delta Pi Epsilon in all the schools in Michigan."
The mission statement of the Society is "to improve the teaching of business through research, to develop leadership skills of members, to advance the profession through research and leadership activities, and to provide members with team-building and networking opportunities."
