Abstract

Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority was founded at Eastern Michigan University in 1899. It was originally founded as an educational organization, but is now regarded as a social sorority. The collection contains two oversized paddles, traditionally given to members by a "big sister".

Abstract The Barbara Warner Weiss papers, 1909-1997 bulk dates 1947-1950, primarily document her membership in the Sigma Nu Phi Sorority. The materials in the Delta Zeta Sorority collection date from 1986 to 2014, with the majority of the collection containing scrapbooks, photographs, trophies and other ephemera. The collection does not contain minutes, membership lists, or local governing documents. It is possible that such documentation still resides with the Delta Zeta Sorority at Eastern Michigan University.

The Eastern Michigan University Pins and Buttons collection is comprised of Pins and Buttons that were distributed to promote causes, commemorate events and/or organizations. The specifics of when these items were created and distributed is not entirely known, but dates were assumed when possible, most items are older than 1956.
