Abstract

The collection of Inactive Student Organizations records follows a detailed history of the various organizations approved and eventually rendered defunct by the Office of Campus Life, the administrative department responsible for all student organizations and Greek societies. Records include both recognition and cancellation letters from university authorities, individual organization constitutions, preambles, regulations/by-laws, detailed charters, various status reports, and letters detailing communications between organization leaders and university authorities. The earliest date within this collection is the petition for the future Student Taekwondo Organization, formerly the Isshinryu Karate Club, on 1968 October 9. This collection continues through the year 2010, and features many examples of unique and inventive student organizations. Materials are arranged alphabetically.

Administrative History

The mission of Campus Life is to provide a wide variety of student involvement activities which include weekend programs, campus events, Greek fraternities and sororities, student clubs and organizations. Campus Life has been providing opportunities for students to explore their campus since the earliest years of the University.
