Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity collection
Abstract
The Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity collection holds materials from the Sigma Kappa Zeta chapter at Eastern Michigan University. It contains alumni newsletters, business and alumni meeting minutes, the banner, certificates, a pin, the constitution, correspondence, incidents, manuals, newspaper clippings, chapter reports, photos, and website information. A colony for the chapter was established in 1973. The charter was signed in January of 1976 and on March 28, 1976, recognition as Sigma Kappa Zeta was received from the National Fraternity office.

Historical Note
In 1909, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity was founded by Warren Albert Cole at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. After several years, the fraternity became national in 1913. A colony for the chapter was established in 1973. The charter was signed in January of 1976 and on March 28, 1976, recognition as Sigma Kappa Zeta was received from the National Fraternity office. Gerald Rodinsky and Marc Bonneau, with the help of the University of Michigan Sigma Zeta chapter, are credited with founding the fraternity at Eastern Michigan University.
