Administrative History
Panhellenic Council (Panhel) was established in 1902. It serves as an umbrella organization for all national sororities. Panhellenic Council has two representatives from each sorority to attend meetings, during which they will make important decisions regarding topics in Greek Life such as rush, hazing and the Greek position on campus. Panhellenic Council strives to promote good relations between each sorority, and relations between the Greek system and Eastern Michigan University.
Eastern Michigan University's Panhellenic Council has always included the many local sororities that have resided on campus, despite the rule that states only national sororities are involved in Panhellenic Council.
