Scope and Contents
The College of Arts and Sciences records include materials regarding the history, operations and functions of the CAS from approximately 1968 to 2011.
The College of Arts and Sciences records have been divided into five series: Administration and history, Curriculum, Events and Communications, Advisory Council, and Council on Instruction.
The Administration and History series includes materials pertaining to the operations of the College of Arts and Sciences, and includes three subseries: Meeting Agenda and Minutes, Office of the Dean; Committee Reports, and Proposals and Academic Department Administrators. The subseries directly related to the Dean originate from the office of Linda Pritchard when she held the position. The Curriculum series includes program descriptions and proposals. The Curriculum Changes subseries contains materials related to changes from the 1960s through the 1970s. These changes include new courses, new programs, and change of courses to both the undergraduate and graduate programs in specific departments. Events and Communications includes clippings, news releases, newsletters, and materials regarding the Honors Celebrations. Finally, the Advisory Council and Council on Instruction series include meeting minutes and have been arranged chronologically.
