Abstract
On January 1, 1962 Eastern Michigan University, joined the University of Michigan and Wayne State University in a program providing adult education classes through the University center for Adult Education. The University Center for Adult Education records date from 1960-1979 and include correspondence, booklets, clippings, and pamphlets affiliated with this program.

Administrative Historical note
On January 1, 1962 Eastern Michigan University, joined University of Michigan and Wayne State University in a program providing adult education classes through the University center for Adult Education. The University Center for Adult Education provided a comprehensive program of continuing education for the Southeastern Michigan community. Courses did not offer credit but was rather for "learning for the sake of learning".
