Abstract

Campus Service Corps, a student volunteer program at Eastern Michigan University administered throuhg the Office of Religious Affairs, worked with members of the Ypsilanti community from 1964-1979, focusing on youth in the the Parkridge Housing development. This collection includes program communications, bylaws, manuals, and other materials. Records are organized alphbetically with a series for Manuals. Materials are valuable to understanding community outreach volunteer organizations and how they operate.

Administrative History Note

Campus Service Corps was created at Eastern Michigan University in 1964, serving the greater Ypsilanti community. Students volunteers worked with underpriveleged attendees of all ages. The program operated under the Office of Religious Affairs until 1976 and then the Office of Campus Life until 1979.
