The collection contains correspondences, program proposals, planning documents, publications, and other materials. It is valuable to the study of the National Center on Teaching and Learning and challenges in educational professions.

Administrative History Note
The National Center on Teaching and Learning was founded in 1980 by President John W. Porter at Eastern Michigan University to provide educational services at the local, state, federal, and non-profit levels. The Mott Foundation funded project also worked in conjunction with the Staff Development for School Improvement program to improve academic affairs at the university.
