Administrative History Note
The Center for the Study of Contemporary Issues was established in 1970 to study major contemporary issues in America. Topics included drug abuse, violence, women's rights, poverty, technology, and other hot-button isues of the 1970s. The center offered elective courses, with faculty and graduate students at the helm of the organization. The Center for the Study of Contemporary Issues also recruited community volunteers, until it was dissolved in 1975.
