Abstract
Caroline Sanders, a Washtenaw County commissioner representing District 4, originated the idea for Love Letters to Ypsilanti in 2022 to celebrate Ypsilanti bicentennial.
In partnership with YpsiWrites and the City of Ypsilanti's Bicentennial Commission, collected over 200 Love Letters to Ypsilanti to celebrate the city's past, and the pride, diversity, and heritage of the city today.
The collection contains promotional flyers and postcards from community members in response to a series of prompts that were dropped in boxes left at various locations including the Ypsilanti District Library, Eastern Michigan University and area businesses.
