The Communications series includes materials published and distributed by the department, as well as relevant newspaper clippings.

The Oratorical Association records include materials pertaining to the Michigan State Normal College student organization, which practiced debate and oratory. Records include graphic materials such as scrapbook pages, flyers, posters, and programs, as well as administrative papers such as correspondence and constitutions. Some materials from the Department of Elocution and Oratory are also included. The records are dated approximately 1916 to 1937.
