EMU Today is a publication on the Eastern Michigan University campus detailing events and activities of interest to faculty, students, staff, and members of the EMU community. The University Archives collection of EMU Today includes 1983 through 1987 and 1998 through 2012.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The John W. Porter collection documents Porter's tenure as University President from 1979 until 1989. The collection is organized as it was given to University Archives and is organized loosely by topic, containing fifteen identifiable series and one identifiable subseries. The Leadership Development Program, coordinated by James Mansfield in 1967, was designed to attract and assist potential campus leaders. The program gives students a chance to observe and discuss different aspects of leadership. The Leadership Development Program records range from 1966 to 1967 and include applications, correspondence, evaluations, final reports, organizational charts and retention information. The L. Sandy MacLean papers are organized into two series. The first documents MacLean’s role at Eastern Michigan University as the Dean of Students from 1970 to 1976, and consists of administrative, financial, and minutes subseries. The materials in the President's Executive Board records, 1913-1985, are arranged chronologically and are titled with the name used during the time period. A mix of correspondence and meeting minutes, the bulk of the collection are the approved minutes of meetings held with the University President and his advisors: Vice President for Instruction, Vice President for Student Affairs, etc.

Abstract The Ralph Gilden Photograph collection consists of photographs given to Gilden from students of Eastern Michigan University in which he had worked with in various capacities. Ralph Gilden was faculty member and administrator at Eastern Michigan University from 1942-1982 and was known as “Dean Gilden” across campus.
