Annabelle Sumera who died in 2005 was a 1942 graduate of Michigan State Normal School and 1964 teacher of the year. She was a longtime resident, a principal, and elementary school teacher in Birmingham, Michigan before retiring to write poetry and childrens books, rhymes, and short stories.
