Abstract

In 1984 Eastern Michigan University proposed the construction of a Corporate Training Center to be located in southeast Michigan. It was meant to be a multi-purpose space that would offer accomodations for training, conference proceedings, lodging, and recreation. The Corporate Education Center records documents the construction of the center (erected in 1988 and dedicated in 1989) including agreemetns with various contractors; general files for management of the center; reports and proposals; and promotional materials. Records in the collection are arranged into two series: Administration and Promotion and Press. For a period of time the building housed the Eastern Michigan University Foundation and Alumni Relations, although both of those were moved back to central campus in 2015. Materials in the collection date from 1984-1994. There is nothing in the collection that documents the use of the building in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
