Health Services records
Abstract
The Health Services records contain documents pertaining to health care programs and services at Eastern Michigan University from 1941 until 2015. The collection includes press materials, curriculum details, business plans, counseling tools, and other materials. This is valuable to the study of student health resources, health programs, mental health services, and Eastern Michigan University's relationship to the Department of Defense during World War II.

Administrative History Note
In 1941, Michigan State Normal College's health services members were involved in the war effort by helping the Department of Defense assess candidates for aviation. In 1954, the university announced the rededication of the Health Residence to the Glenadine C. Snow Memorial Health Residence. Renovations in the late 1950s included the construction of a new facility, housing both preventative and remedial medicine. In 1967, the university created a student counseling program, and a drug and alcohol abuse prevention program followed in 1993.
