Biographical / Historical
The Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology, or "SAC" as it is mostly called, takes pride in being an integral part of Eastern Michigan University's undergraduate experience and providing excellent programs at the graduate level. SAC is the vibrant environment for more than twenty full-time tenure-line faculty, a large number of experienced part-time lecturers, its administration and the more than 800 students who have chosen one of the undergraduate majors or graduate programs.
The undergraduate programs offer an interdisciplinary approach to the studies of sociology, anthropology, and criminology.
The graduate programs offer an interdisciplinary approach to the studies of sociology, criminology, and cultural museum studies with a fourth interdisciplinary program specifically focused on schools, society, and violence.
