The Joseph Otis Beal papers contains to notebooks used by Beal while he was a student at Michigan State Normal School. The notebooks are undated. According to University Records, Beal graduated from MSNS in 1862.
Kindergarten Work sample books
The Kindergarten Work sample book collection consists of two books of sample piece work including: origami, paper quilting, free hand-cutting, and embroidery. The books were contributed by Mrs. Fred Klein in 1967. It is unknown how the books were used or the affiliation of Mrs. Klein to the University.

Newspaper clippings, correspondence, and reports related to the murder of student Laura Dickinson in 2006, the trials and conviction of Orange Taylor, and the resulting scandal over the university's failure to disclose in a timely fashion that Dickinson was murdered which cost several top administrators their jobs, including President John Fallon, Vice President for Student Affairs James Vick, and Director of Public Safety Cindy Hall.
