The Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Omicron Chapter started as a local sorority at the Michigan State Normal College when the Alpha Beta Sigma Sorority began in 1912. Starkweather Hall is the oldest building on Eastern Michigan University's campus, having been built between 1895-1896 and dedicated in 1897.
