The Barriers to Learning Advisory Committee records include materials from the Barriers to Learning Initiative (BTL), an initative to improve university functions, from 1997-2000. Administrative History Note

Barriers to Learning was a team of faculty and staff founded by Eastern Michigan University President William E. Shelton in 1994 that sought to remove barriers to education at the university. Members of all departments were involved in improving campus life and university functions until the group dissolved in 2000.
